The Harvey Golf Club thanks all
the businesses and individuals that
sponsor competitions throughout the year.
It is through the generosity of these people that golf
is able to continue and thrive in our community.
This page will provide a 4 weekly cycle of events and winners from
the regular Saturday fixtures at the Harvey Golf Club. Take the
time to see the major winners and find out who is helping us to
keep golf alive and exciting in Harvey. When we can, there will be

Presidents Trophy SAT 27th and SUN 28th
JUNE
The prestigious Presidents 36 Hole
Stroke event was conducted in some very difficult windy
and wet conditions over the weekend. Michael Lowe
continued his good form of last week in similar conditions to take
the honours in Saturdays 1st round with a nett 68 from
Harry Blackburn on nett 71. However a new junior member this
year in Brent Henderson had other ideas and
considering the conditions as well as lack of experience he
completely blitzed the field on Sunday when he carded a nett
61 to add to his nett 78 on Saturday and with a combined
total of 139 to be this years Presidents winner.
Congratulations Brent, it is really good to see
new young players coming into the club and general opinion from the
sages of golf around the greens is that both Brent
and his brother Andrew have bright futures in
golf. Keep practicing and get some good coaching guys, this could
be the start of a new generation of champion golfers from this
area.
Harry Blackburn continued his
good form to record a nett 72 to be runner-up on 143 from Michael
Lowe 145 Cec Holman 148 Garry Beacham and Dave Oshaughnessy 149.
Saturdays trophy was won by Michael Lowe on 68 from Gary
Beacham 72 The gross going to Cec Holman with 83 off the stick.
Sundays event was won by Dave Oshaughnessy with a nett 71 from
Graeme Cole 72. The gross going to Laurie Morley
85.

adjustment. John Crew continued his run of good form when he scored
90-21-69 to take the runners-up prize. Next best went to Jim
Baggetta, Derek Williams 71, Brian Hunter, John Parton 72 ,
Peter Castelli , Peter Brandis 74, Merv Kemp, Alan Cope 75. The
